Located in the Gulf of Mexico; three miles off Florida's
southwest coast, Captiva Island is connected to the mainland
via Sanibel Island and the Sanibel Causeway. There is a $3
toll to cross the causeway (bridge).
Captiva is a four and half hours drive from Orlando, while
just three and half hours takes you to Miami. Both routes
are on high quality easy to drive Freeways. Orlando and Miami
are serviced by daily flights from the United Kingdom by Virgin
Atlantic and British Airways.
Captiva is approximately 35 miles from the Southwest Florida
International Airport in Fort Myers which is serviced by all
major American domestic carriers and some international airlines.
All of the major car rental companies are based at these
airports.
If you don’t feel like driving why not use a Limousine
service? For approximately $275 six people can be picked up
from Miami airport and driven to Captiva.
