Fishing
The opportunities are endless for fishing. Captiva is particularly
famous for Snook and Tarpon fishing. You can hire a boat for
deep sea fishing or you may prefer light-tackle angling. Go
for half a day or full day charter with an experienced captain,
or if you prefer you can hire your own boat. We would recommend
Captain Jimmy Burnsed 239-472-1779 who always makes sure our
kids catch some fish.
Fishing Licenses
Most residents and visitors must purchase licenses for fishing
in salt or fresh water. You can purchase a license at The
Bait Box on Periwinkle Way; at Bailey' Centre at the corner
of Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle Way; at Tarpon Bay Recreation;
or at Jensen's Marina. They will happily tell you about any
rules or regulations.
